In 2023, colonial politics do not belong in the International Olympics Committee. Lacrosse was previously in the 1904 and 1908 Olympics but was removed. The question of why, has never been answered by the IOC. Was lacrosse removed from the Olympics  because an Indigenous team won metal for lacrosse. It has always been suspected by the Haudenosaunee People, that lacrosse was removed from the Olympics because an Indigenous team won gold metal. Was it because the IOC at that time, believed that the non-indigenous teams would never or hardly ever, be able to compete and win against the indigenous team. If this is true, that is clear racism. If not, then what was the reason. The 1904 Olympics were low in participation of sport competitors and audience attendance due to geopolitical circumstances.  In 2023, " Indigenous Nation" needs to be added to canada's current colonial list of the indigenous people of North America. These are the Indigenous Nations who have always lived in North America since creation and may have been divided by the artificial and colonial border between Canada and the United States. It would be too big of a lift to get the Canadian government to do away with all the artificial colonial labels it now puts on Indigenous Nations and people of North America, who live where they have always lived since creation. Yes, the United Nations currently recognizes an Indigenous PEOPLES Day (created in 1982). What is needed now in 2023, is an Indigenous NATIONS Month.  When the wording of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous "Peoples" was being hammered out, every word was being argued over by the world powers and the indigenous nations. The Indigenous Nations tried to have it be named the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous "Nations". But the world powers won out and that's why today it's called the United Nations Declaration of the Rights of Indigenous "Peoples". The world powers made sure the Indigenous Nations of the world would be kept as "Peoples" and would not be given recognition as Indigenous "Nations". It is now time for the United Nations to give that recognition to the Indigenous Nations of the world.
