123.) A Haudenosaunee reminder: "Women are seven times stronger than men" (5min. read)

It is our belief that the Creator has given women and men separate duties. Each has been created specifically for their separate duties.

If a man and a woman stand against a wall, with their heels touching the wall, the woman can bend down and touch her toes, but the man cannot. Try this.

The Women carry special responsibilities, so they are seven times stronger than men.

This is the way of the Longhouse. No one is ever forced to believe in the Longhouse. It is said – a person comes to it when they come to it.

The old people always said "No Change".

In the english language, The word "religion" is used to describe the Longhouse. The english word "religion" is one of many man-made cubicles that has been created by the patriarchal societies, to a separate and classify all of life.

These are false narratives, and need to be put aside to find true understanding of Creation.

Our Longhouse belief is more than "religion". It encompasses all of this Creation.

"Women are seven times stronger than men

Here are some of the responsibilities that Women have. Some of these responsibilities given to the women from the Creator, are looked down upon by the "outside society". That is why it is called the "outside society".

Women are seven times stronger than men.

They are first-life givers,

They are mothers,

They are midwives,

They tend the family hearth, to feed and keep the family healthy,

They raise the children,

Their bodies change with the phases of the moon.

They cook for all Longhouse ceremonies.

The children follow the mother's bloodline. The children belong to her clan, her nation.

When the men sing their personal Thanksgiving chant, the women clap their hands in rhythm to the man's chant. This is done as a reminder that the women do everything with their hands. It is a reminder that they are seven times stronger than men. Women's hands do everything to sustain the lives of the People.

A man's voice can only speaks words.

The Clanmother chooses which man in her clan is best suited to take on the responsibilities of being a Chief. The Clanmother can remove the Chief title from the man immediately without consultation, for murder, rape, or theft.

She will also remove the Chief's title from him for wrongdoings, after two warnings. The first warning is given during the condolence ceremony to install the responsibilities of a Chief, on the man she has chosen. So if the Chief is doing wrong, and the Clanmother comes to warn him, that is his second warning. After that, if the Chief continues to do the wrongs from what the Clanmother has told him to stop, the Clanmother will take a man "who has no pity" with her, and go to that Chief to remove the title from him. He is no longer a Chief, and the people will no longer hear his voice, or understand his words.

"Women are seven times stronger than men."
